Novak Djokovic’s shock French Open loss to Dominic Thiem will see the red-hot Rafael Nadal leapfrog him in the ATP rankings.

World No.2 Djokovic was completely outplayed by Thiem 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 6-0 on Wednesday, suffering a brutal loss and his first ‘bagel’ at a major since 2005.

Nadal, who barely broke a sweat as he moved into the semi-finals courtesy of Pablo Carreno Busta’s second-set injury retirement, is currently No.4 in the world but will rocket upwards thanks to Djokovic’s early exit.

The Spaniard is set to leapfrog both Djokovic and No.3 Stan Wawrinka, unless Wawrinka manages to go all the way and win the French Open.
