Sunday was a momentous day for Petr Cech, who finally managed to save a penalty for Arsenal on the 16th attempt.
The Czech goalkeeper has enjoyed a career that would be the envy of most, having starred for both Chelsea and the Gunners in the English top flight.
But his penalty record since joining Arsenal is not a source of pride, as successive takers have made him suffer from the spot.
Prior to Sunday’s clash with Watford, Cech had seen 15 straight spot-kicks slip past him in Arsenal colours.
What’s more, on 12 occasions the keeper had dived the wrong way.
But he finally broke the curse in saving Troy Deeney’s penalty, after Ainsley Maitland-Niles had brought down Roberto Pereyra in the box.
