The National Youth Service Corps wishes to refer a news story in some national dailies and online platforms reporting that a Corps member was quarantined in Benue State for suspected infection with Monkey Pox.

Management wishes to inform the public that the Corps member referred to belonged to the 2016 Batch ‘B’ (Stream One) and has since successfully completed the National Service.

Our findings showed that the quarantine was based on suspected contact with an infected person, but the result of test carried out on the Corps member eventually came out negative.

We wish to assure parents, guardians and the rest of the public that no serving Corps member in Benue State is quarantined for Monkey Pox at the moment.
