Akinboyewa Ayoola

I summon courage to walk to that lake
Where grows the tree of success I now shake

Harder and harder, my energies pulsate
Eager to get a fruit and my being elevate

Then my eyes catches a gleam of my reflection
Flowing on the lake, exposing my intention

Cursing and complaining, I hit against the tree
Attracted by wealth and fame, demanding entry

With no intent of waiting, I ignore the view
Until wisdom my action forces me to review

Impatience will fester and kill like a krait
And success will only come to those who wait
