Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and presidential aspirant for 2019 general elections, Professor Kingsley Moghalu has said that he would not be a candidate of any cabal in the country, insisting that he would defeat President Muhammadu Buhari going by the president’s performance in office.

According to him, while some of the aspirants were looking for blocks and groups to lean on to support their aspirations, he was presenting himself to Nigerians based on what he believed he could do to put the country on sound economic footing.

He said: “We need somebody who can manage the economy well. I know what to do to fix the economy. Nigerians need to be told that this government has failed them.

“Nine million people have lost their jobs since President Buhari came to power in 2015. Nigeria has become a killing field under him and Nigerians cannot sleep, even though we have a retired Army General as our president.

“The hood does not make the monk because he is running on an old name. I will beat him by simply using his poor record. Under Buhari, Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world.”
